Can safety training be conducted without lecture and Powerpoint? How do we make our training interactive with relatable activities that are worth the time spent in our classes? This training will cover basic adult learning principles, and how to apply these principles to our safety training classes. You’ll learn tools and activities that will enhance and make your training memorable.
Learning objectives are:
- Describe the basics of adult learning principles
- Apply adult learning principles to safety training
- Convert lectures into interactive safety training
- Utilize tools and activities that add meaning to learning
Our Instructors:
Gwen Navarrete Klapperich, M.Ed., CPLP is the Chief Learning Consultant of Klapperich International Training Associates (KITA) LLC, a small consulting firm dedicated to diversity and inclusion initiatives and health and safety training. She has been certified as an American Red Cross Preparedness Health & Safety Instructor since 2010 and completed her M.Ed. in Training & Performance Improvement at Capella University.
Ron Klapperich, CSP, CHST, is the Principal Safety Consultant for KITA LLC and a Senior Consultant with HEMIC Insurance. He has worked in the safety industry for 21 years and is an OSHA authorized trainer for General Industry and Construction. Ron earned his Bachelorʻs Degree in Environmental Health at the University of Washington.
