Location: Kapolei, HI

The Safety Specialist works under the direction of the Regional Safety Manager in partnership with our project team members to provide technical assistance and support of specific projects to maintain safety regulations, policies and protocols related to the control of environmental and/or occupational hazards. The engineer will focus on project specific inspections and needs, while monitoring established policies and procedures for safe practices when employees are faced with occupational hazards. Lastly, this individual will act as a resource to job sites in meeting the Company’s expectations as outlined in the Company Safety & Health Manual.

Safety Intern – Summer 2026

Location: Kapolei, HI

As a Safety Intern, you will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge and training in a real-world setting. Under supervision of a Regional Safety Manager and/or Director of Safety you will be assisting with facilitation of the company’s safety program and processes. You will learn hands-on about construction activities, scheduling, risk assessments, planning, and implement corrective measures as necessary; and at the same time learn what a GBI safety professional does on a daily basis.

SAFETY SPECIALIST I (SR-20)

The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), Administration Division is hiring a Safety Specialist I. Located in Kapolei, this position, under the general direction of the Safety Specialist II, assists in the planning, development, coordination and execution of a comprehensive safety and accident prevention program for the Department;  identifies and evaluates training needs and recommends course development; prepares for safety education/training by selecting and assembling materials and visual aids and consultation with contracted professional consultants; and arranges and coordinates special and technical training courses and services.

Special Work Requirements: Serves as the backup to the Department Emergency Coordinator, in the position of Alternate Emergency Coordinator, during emergencies. Will be required to work evenings, holidays and weekends during special events or emergency call outs.

ASSP Hawaii 2024 Holiday Party
