The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), Administration Division is hiring a Safety Specialist I. Located in Kapolei, this position, under the general direction of the Safety Specialist II, assists in the planning, development, coordination and execution of a comprehensive safety and accident prevention program for the Department; identifies and evaluates training needs and recommends course development; prepares for safety education/training by selecting and assembling materials and visual aids and consultation with contracted professional consultants; and arranges and coordinates special and technical training courses and services.
Special Work Requirements: Serves as the backup to the Department Emergency Coordinator, in the position of Alternate Emergency Coordinator, during emergencies. Will be required to work evenings, holidays and weekends during special events or emergency call outs.
