Topic From Silence to Success:
Building a Culture of Psychological Safety
A strong safety culture starts with the courage to speak up and the confidence to listen. This session explores psychological safety as the foundation for safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Participants will examine the three essentials of a psychologically safe culture: speak up, listen up, and follow up. Through stories, research, and practical tools, leaders will learn to model inclusion, encourage open dialogue, and respond constructively when concerns are raised. By creating an environment of trust and respect, you’ll strengthen both team morale and safety outcomes.
Attendees will learn:
- Define psychological safety and explain its role in building a proactive safety culture.
- Analyze common barriers that prevent team members from speaking up and differentiate between high- and low-safety responses from leaders.
- Apply the “speak up, listen up, follow up” framework to develop practical strategies that strengthen trust and continuous improvement within their teams.
